Adams Vs. Jefferson: The Tumultuous Election of 1800.

May 29, 2008

I am reading Adams Vs. Jefferson: The Tumultuous Election of 1800. It is a very interesting read. It covers the election of Adams through his loss to Jefferson 4 years later. All the players and all the issues. It is real interesting. A lot of it shows how much things don’t change.

E-Papar….E-Books.

I have been watching the advances in E-Paper  technology closely. Amazon’s Kindle  is a new E-Book that has finally broke through most of the problems with E-Paper E-Books.  E-Paper is great because it applies power to change a page but then the page is displayed in a powerless environment. The display is not backlit. The more light that hits the screen, the better you can read it – just like a piece of paper. Very easy on the eyes.

Kindle

This Article really lays out the new features that makes it attractive. At $400 it is a little steep and it is the first version of the thing but it is tempting. I think I will wait for version 2.0 though.

Lars and the Real Girl

May 8, 2008

I watched Lars and the Real Girl    last night. It wasn’t until reading the credits that I found the true essence of the movie. It was a bunch of fictitious characters dealing with one of their group who they thought was more fictitious.

I loved the cast. I thought everyone was great, especially the girl who played Bianca. She didn’t overact. There is always a tendency to overact a part like that. I call it the “Al Pacino syndrome”. I had the uneasy feeling that I had seen her somewhere before but couldn’t quite place it. Then when I logged onto my blog, I remembered (No not that), she was the girl in the “Left / Right brain test” on this blog.

I highly recommend this movie.
